“One used French barrique. That’s all this paltry vintage offered. Ouch! Maybe some comfort to know that it’s a very fine drink, pretty and ethereal. Flavours oscillate between tangy-sweet fruit to savoury elements: cherries and pips, poached rhubarb and blood orange with Angostura bitters. The palate squeezes in at medium bodied with fine, sandy tannins and such uplifting acidity to close long and pure.”
